If you enjoy making short films and have a place in your heart for Vietnamese street food, a new competition, "Vietnamese street cuisine" should be right up your alley. Oh, and the winning films will fetch VND20 million in prize money.
Organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the HCMC Tourism Association and the Saigon International Film School (SIFS), the 2-month competition seeks to highlight Vietnam's street food culture through film.
Participants must craft a film using anything from a camera phone to professional equipment to show street food and tell the story of the cooks who make and sell the dishes.
The judges for the competition are of six local and foreign film and culinary experts, including Robert Danhi, author of several popular and prize-winning gastronomy books.
The prizes are quite substantial as well:
3 first prizes - VND20 million each
3 second prizes - VND15 million each
3 third prizes - VND10 million each
3 consultation prizes - VND6 million each
