[Video] A Day in the Life of a Saigon Street Masseur

You’ve no doubt heard ringing bottle caps, the calling card of Saigon’s street masseurs, outside your door in the evening hours. These men ride around the city till the morning light, hoping to put a bit of money in their pocket.

Like many of those who make their living on the city’s streets, life for these masseurs is a struggle. Their goal is just to get by, a little here, a little there while battling the misconception that most are thieves.

This video from Tuoi Tre follows a masseur, Bui Van Hai, on his nightly rounds and shows that while his job is an absolute grind, he still takes a great deal of pride in his work.
