[Photos] Multi-Purpose Can Gio Pavilion Embraces Nature

If you were a bird, where would you land?

That question lead architects DE-SO to create this pavilion in suburban Can Gio. The wing-shaped roof of the building protects visitors from rain and sun as they stop on their journey to explore the avian-rich mangrove forest south of Saigon. 

Using natural stone and wood, the team created an open-air pavilion that will call to mind a bird landing on the nearby fields. 

Because Can Gio is only accessible via ferry, getting the building materials on-site took some time. But once completed, the space accommodates visitors looking to eat, relax and appreciate the area.
