[Photos] Linh Quy Phap An: Vietnam's Temple in the Sky

Linh Quy Phap An, an elusive temple nestled high in the hills of Vietnam’s Central Highlands, is drawing attention from tourists all over the country thanks to a new pop music video.

Located 20 kilometers away from the center of Bao Loc, Linh Quy Phap An was one of Vietnam’s best-kept secrets, at least up until recently: controversial pop sensation Son Tung M-TP released a new music video not long ago featuring breathtaking footage from the temple.

According to Zing, Linh Quy Phap An is located in the middle of a 40-hectare lot spanning several hills, forested areas and tea plantations. Currently there is no road leading to the structure, so visitors have to navigate the wilderness on a 40-centimeter-wide motorbike track.

The most prominent feature of the temple is an elevated courtyard that, at times, looks like it’s smack dab in the middle of the sky.

According to Thich Minh Thanh, Linh Quy Phap An’s abbot, during his time studying the dharma in Japan, he took an interest in Japanese traditional architecture, which he used as inspiration for the Bao Loc temple.
